Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who was in South Africa for the Test series, had to rush back home due to a family emergency, as per information from BCCI sources reported by PTI. Although there was an unexpected departure, fans can relax because Kohli is likely to rejoin the squad before the first Test on December 26.

Kohli, accompanied by Rohit Sharma, had opted out of the initial white-ball matches in the tour. The iconic batter will return to the field for the crucial Test series against the hosts after addressing a personal matter.

In another setback for the Indian team, Ruturaj Gaikwad won’t be part of the two-Test series due to a finger fracture. This unfortunate incident occurred during the second ODI against South Africa when Gaikwad injured his finger while attempting to make a catch.

So, the Indian team faces a couple of challenges with the absence of Kohli temporarily and Gaikwad for the entire Test series. Cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the return of their beloved captain and hope for a swift recovery for Gaikwad.
