India vs South Africa 2023-24: After a fantastic 4-1 victory against Australia in the recent T20I series, Team India is all set for their next challenge – a comprehensive series against South Africa, starting this Sunday. The action will kick off with the T20Is.
In preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, the team is putting the spotlight on young talents. Suryakumar will be leading a youthful squad, with limited senior players available. Ravindra Jadeja will be his deputy, and the squad includes Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Mohammed Siraj, who were part of the ODI World Cup where India finished as runners-up.
The T20Is will be followed by the 50-over format, led by KL Rahul as Suryakumar is not part of it. However, veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won’t feature in the white-ball format.
The tour will culminate in a two-match Test series, marking the return of Kohli and Rohit after the ODI World Cup. Senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are also back for the red-ball format, promising a thrilling contest in South African conditions.
