Assam cricketer Riyan Parag has been selected for the India A squad in the Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to take place from July 13th to July 23rd in Colombo. The announcement was made by the Board for Cricket Control In India (BCCI).
Joining Parag in the squad is Sai Sudharsan from Tamil Nadu, who showcased his talent while playing for the Gujarat Titans in this year’s Indian Premier League. Pradosh Ranjan Paul, a member of his state team, also secured a place in the squad. The team also includes bowlers Manav Suther and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya, among others.
India has been placed in Group B for the tournament, alongside Nepal, UAE A, and Pakistan A. A Group consists of Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Oman A. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals, which will be held on July 21st. The final match is scheduled to take place on July 23rd.
